Car-Free Day

As part of European Mobility week a Car-Free Day is being organised in Blackrock College this Friday, 21st September 2007, by the Blackrock College Green-Schools Committee.

We ask you to consider letting your son/s use public transport, walk or cycle to school on this day.
 
If your son must travel by car we ask you to consider dropping him off a little distance from the College and letting him walk in.

Frascati Shopping Centre have very kindly agreed to provide Free Parking for parents between 8.00-9.15am.  This will allow you and your children to participate in the car free day by walking from Frascati to Blackrock and Willow Park. 

Please note if you are availing of the Free Parking in the Frascati Car Park you must park in the back far right hand side of the car park, the side closest to Mt Merrion Avenue. (See Map below)

We suggest that this small initiative, a Car-Free Day, may improve your son’s health and fitness, promote a healthier lifestyle, save a little fuel, and reduce emissions and congestion.

We will be surveying people on Friday to determine how they got to the school.

We ask for your support with this important initiative.
