Minutes of GreenSchools meeting- Tuesday October 12th

Discussed:

 

1.

 

  • ·Found Art Recycling Competition:

 

  1. All art types count. Must be made from recycled material.First, Second and third prize possibilities.Inter year competition.

 

  • ·Pizza competition: Bins to be filled with recyclable material. Any food infected material in bin means the bin is void and does not count towards their total bins. Most Bins wins 200 Pizzas. Inter-year competition.
  • ·Visiting recycling centre. Green team trip to the recycling centre to see how it’s done.

 

2.         Workshops on waste management and water.

 

  • ·Plan is being drawn up by Daniel Di Lucia and Karl McCabe.
  • ·To be done during C.S.P.E.

 

3.         Bottle Raft Race

 

  1. 1.To be done after Christmas for TY MAD Week perhaps
  2. 2.People are to collect 2l bottles.
  3. 3.They have 2 hours to put together a raft that will float and sustain the weight of one team member.
  4. 4.They are supplied with materials to put it together there.
  5. 5.The raft must make it the length of the school swimming pool.

 

 

 

4.         Recycling Posters.

 

  1. 1.Poster competition to promote awareness of recycling and litter.
  2. 2.Winner and second place will have their posters put up all around the school.
