Croke Park

On Tuesday (4/10), 4.2 and 4.8 Engish and Religion classes were the second group to visit Croke Park.

The tour began with a five minute video showing the preparation that goes into making the stadium ready for an All Ireland Final, which was found by most to be highly entertaining. Afterwards we were taken by our tour guide to the dressing rooms used by the players. We were told about the facilities available to the players in the dressing rooms such as showers, drinks, food, etc. Then we made our way out onto the stadium via the tunnel the players would take. We were then brought around the stadium from the low stands to the very high stands and were told different facts about Croke Park and GAA as well as given an opportunity to ask questions. The tour ended with a short trip of the GAA museum followed by a generous amount of time spent playing some of the games on offer, such as trying to hit a small mark with a hurl and sliotar. All and all, it was very much enjoyed.
