Leman Concert 2012
On Sunday 22nd January, many Transition Year students were involved in the 26th Leman Festival Concert in the National Concert Hall.
Transition Year students play a central role in the Leman Choir, which performed three pieces: "Adiemus" by Karl Jenkins, "Angels" by Robbie Williams and "Bui Doi" from the musical Miss Saigon. Several students from the year were involved with the orchestra who performed "The Incredibles" and "Rhapsody in Blue" aswell as accompanying the choirs throughout the concert.
Part Two saw "The Toasters" perform "Baba O'Riley" by The Who. This band consisted of some of the finest musicians in Transition Year, featuring: Eoin Galligan, Evan Holland, Darragh Larkin, Johnny McDowell, Michael Marren, Jonathon Ng and Ross O'Leary. "Ceoltóirí Carraige", a group peforming traditional Irish music featured Chris Butler and Eoin Galligan, accompanied by Caraí McMahon, Una O'Kane, Joe O'Sullivan and Garry Sullivan.
The concert was a huge success. It was a brilliant night enjoyed by all.
