BCR: News Team

Up and_At_EmThe News Team begin Blackrock College Radio each day with their morning show: "Up And At 'Em". This show lasts approximately an hour. Live guests have included Sean Barrett, Micheál Martin and Ruairí Quinn. "Up And At 'Em" features reports on the latest news, aswell as sports, weather and traffic updates.

BCR Logo

2010 BCR_Logo_283x400A competition to create the logo for BCR 2011 has begun. The winning design will then be used to advertise BCR around the school. Please give all entries to Ms. Nulty. The picture adjacent to this article shows a winning design from a previous year. Best of luck to all who wish to enter!

News Team

The News Team has three shows on BCR. Our main show will be Up and At 'em in the morning from 8am to 9am. Our next show will be a 10 minutes news bulletin around lunch. Our final show will be our evening news show from 5.00pm to 5.30pm.

BCR in Preparation

Blackrock  College Radio was preparing in full swing this week, with the recording and editing of shows. With so much to be done in so little time, next week should be interesting! Regardless of the work everyone seems to be having a great time doing it. Stay tuned for BCR which goes live, 21st-25th of November.

Blackrock College Radio

bcr poster1Blackrock College Radio (BCR) is a radio station which has been run by the Transition Year students of Blackrock College for the past 16 years. Transition Year is granted a special event licence by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland to broadcast over a five mile radius for a week. 

BCR is a major undertaking involving the production of over 45 hours of radio in one week and approximately 170 students. The station offers a variety of content, including news, sport, music, interviews and school-related programmes
